Porträt von Sebastian Schwaminger

Assoz.-Prof. Dr. Sebastian Schwaminger

Head of NanoLab

Research focus: Engineer surface‐functionalized nanomaterials and scalable bioseparation processes.

Short Biography

I hold BSc and MSc degrees in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich and completed my PhD there in 2017, specializing in bioseparation strategies and nanoparticle synthesis. As a Marie Sklodowska‐Curie Research Fellow at MIT and a postdoctoral associate in TUM’s Bioseparation Engineering Group, I developed purification and characterization workflows for ultrasmall iron oxide nanoparticles, and from 2022 to 2024 I served as Assistant Professor of Nanomaterials for Drug Delivery at the Medical University of Graz. I now apply this expertise as Associate Professor at the Otto Loewi Research Center, leading the design of nanomaterial platforms for targeted drug delivery.
